Another Busy Weekend

This past Saturday was the Opening Day for RMBI (which is the Seminary School) our church has. It went well and everyone seemed to have a nice time.
This whole month there has been something special happening on Saturdays good thing Aaron had a month off from Bill's Special Kids because our Saturday's are normally filled with things for Special Needs Sports etc.

Aaron will start school next Monday the 27th. And he will begin his Guitar lessons either this Saturday afternoon or the following one have not been in touch this week with the teacher yet. He is quite excited to begin the lessons.

He is also enjoying the Exercise bike he now has. It is pretty cool I like it too. He is computerized so it tells your heart and pulse rate etc and lets you know how many miles and minutes it takes you as well. It is made by Nordic Track. I will take a picture of him later today on it.

The Dr called and I have to go this afternoon for MORE BLOOD WORK.. soon I won't have any left I told them. (Ha!)

Michael starts his Standby today he left this morning at 4am and won't be home till next Tuesday at 6pm it will be a long week without him. But the city rules are he has to be within a 30 minute response time and we live more than an hour away.
He will have to do this every 3 or 4 weeks. Not sure how I will like this new schedule but we do what we have to do.

Sad Time....... then Rejoice....then Proud....

First of all the sad time was the passing of Bro. John Paul Goodreau from or church this past Thursday evening. He will be greatly missed. He always had such a pleasent attitude and a smile for everyone, always asking me how I was? When I could see that he was in great pain himself.

The rejoicing part is that John was saved and he was baptized in 2005. So this brings much joy to his loved ones left behind. John is no longer in pain and is in Heaven with our Lord. Maybe I should say this should be called the envy part of posting. What a day that will be when my Jesus I shall see. AMEN....

The Proud part is that Sis. LaVerne, John's widow asked Aaron to be one of the Pallbearer's. He has NEVER done anything at all like this. So I must say at first I was a bit leary about it. But I have to say. HE DID AWESOME... everyone kept telling him how very proud they were of him and that it is an honor to be asked to be a Pallbearer. He would just smile and say I know, I will do my best. AND he DID...So this Mama is very proud of him. My baby has become a young man indeed!!!!!

LaVerne asked me to take some pictures and she wanted one with Aaron yesterday she said I want a picture with this handsome young man. (smile)

So the day turned out very well despite the awful heat. And our dear friend Bro. John , what we knew as his body was laid to rest at the Riverside National Cemetery. John was in the Air Force during Viet Nam at the same time my hubby Michael was in the Air Force. So he had a wonderful military service.

Aaron wrote a poem that he read at the funeral. I had to help him spell the words correctly but he did a great job. Here is what he wrote...

There was a man at my church his name was Brother John
He passed away this last week and now he is gone
He would come in and smile at me as he hobbled along
It is such a shame but he was in so much pain.

I bet my Poppy met him at the pearly white gates
I am sure Heaven is beautiful I too can hardly wait

The Lord took him home and I lost a friend
This is not goodbye Brother John I will see you again.

Here are a few pictures of the day......

Aaron Playing Bass Guitar

Aaron has expressed a desire to learn to play the Bass Guitar so I went on Ebay and bought him one also found an Amplifier on ebay too. Yes, I do love Ebay......

He will hopefully begin taking lessons in September. I found a Guitar Teacher who said he would love to teach a special needs child to play a guitar. He actually is getting his Masters and becoming a Special Ed Teacher. WOW was it awesome I called this guy or what?

Here he is with his new Guitar..

Cool Slideshows!

Movie Reviews..

Yesterday afternoon Aaron and I decided to go to the movies. Soon he will start school and he and I won't be able to spend all day together as we have these past couple of months. The summer has actually went very fast and I am so proud of Aaron and the way he is handling himself these days. Can you tell I love him Nah!!!!!
Anyway yesterday we saw NO RESERVATIONS what a wonderful CLEAN WHOLESOME Family movie. We both really enjoyed it. Yes, I did cry a couple of times. I am a sap with movies YES....

Then today Pat called and asked if she could treat Aaron and I to a movie with her and Nathan. They were going to see UNDERDOG. What a cute kids movie. Aaron and Nathan both enjoyed it very much. Of course Aaron would have enjoyed any movie going with Nathan and Pat. (smile) He so adores that little boy and Pat is extremely special to him.
We did have a lot of fun and a wonderful afternoon. Thanks Pat for taking us. We love you.. Hugs

Great weekend.. most of it in church

What a weekend... as stated in the last post it started on Friday evening with closing night of Vacation Bible School. Then Saturday morning we had to be up early in order to be in La Habra by 9:30 for the Ordination of Bro. Kevin Parsons. Who as of today is now a PASTOR woo hoo for Kevin. It was a wonderful service and there were a lot of people there. Matt came from Coachella and he led songs. (Good job as always) Wish he would have sang a special though. (Maybe next weekend? Please Matthew) hehehe
Jason, Jerry and Odis came too. It was great seeing all of them as well.
After services the ladies from the church served a wonderful lunch too all.
Then today of course was church. A bunch of us went to lunch (as many of us always do) today there were 16 of us that went we had a nice time. It was to late to come home after lunch because it would have been time to turn around and go back for evening services. So we went to the church. Bro. Mark Minton had his guitars as always with him. Aaron told him he wanted to learn to play the Bass Guitar so he sat Aaron down and showed him a couple of cords. He told me if I got Aaron a guitar he would help teach him that got Aaron all excited. Then Dad went to the van to get my camera he wanted some pictures of Aaron playing. It was really cute.
So as with every Sunday we had a very full day.
All in all we had a wonderful weekend. Next weekend our church is hosting a Big Youth Rally on Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm. So it will be another full weekend that weekend too. Then the following Saturday is Opening Day of RMBI. (Good thing Aaron had a month off from Bill's Special Kids before Bowling starts again) We have all the Saturdays in August almost filled with church activities.
Anyway hope everyone had a Blessed Weekend.

'6 Degrees of Martina McBride'

We've all heard the theory: Everyone in the world is separated from everyone else by only six other people. But is it true? That's the starting point for "6 Degrees of Martina McBride," a new show that combined competition with country music and the social theory known as "six degrees of separation.
Six people from some of the tiniest towns in America will find out just how far connections, talent and Martina McBride can take them toward their dream of country music stardom.

The six hopefuls were Kristina Craig from Whitman, Neb., Mark Jasper from Beulah, N.D., DeAnne Roberts from Dickens, Texas, Ken Swick from Elk River Valley, Colo., Dani Riker from Encampment, Wyo., and Thomas Stratton from Union, Ore. In the end, only one of the six could walk away with a record deal.

DeAnne Roberts from Texas won.. she had the best song.. not necessarily I felt the best voice but the best song.

It was a cute show I really liked it. Wish I could get on a show like that I would like to play that game. hehehe

Bill's Suprise 75th Birthday Party

Saturday Bill had a Suprise Party it was really neat he did not know at all about it. Evelyn had taken him to State Line, Nevada on Thursday so we could decorate and prepare the food etc. We had a lot of fun working on the party and it was a great success. Some of the pictures were taken on Friday, as we prepared for the party. We cut up ALOT OF FRUIT and VEGGIES.. my hand was sore on Saturday. (smile)....
We made beautiful platters of food as you will see in the pictures. These were made so the guests could munch on something while waiting for Bill and Evelyn to arrive. We had awesome food cooked at the party. The same people who did our Bills Special Kids Christmas Party cooked for the party they do awesome tacos of meat and chicken with rice, beans, salsa and chips...ALL YOU CAN SAY IS YUMMY.......

Bill deserves so much from all of us because he gives so much to ALL SPECIAL KIDS... and to the Community. He was Citizen of the Year in "2006" for Moreno Valley. WE LOVE BILL and all of the Yearsley's here are a few pictures of the occasion I took about 180 pictures. I am making Bill a scrapbook.

Today is our 37th Anniversary

I cannot believe it has been 37 years since I got married. Where have all those years gone? They say as you get older the years pass more quickly, I am beginning to think that saying is correct. I am blessed to have Michael as my husband and thank God he sent him to me. I was 17 when we got married I thought people who were over 50 were sooooo old. Now that does not seem to old to me. Ha! After being married this long it is just another day though... Aaron has a Psychologist appointment from 10-12 today and then a Psychiatrist appointment at Noon. Then I need to take him for a haircut. This kids hair grows like crazy... girls who want nice long thick hair would love to have his hair. (smile) Tonight is my class from 5:30 - 7:00 this is week 11 I have 13 more weeks of this class. It is really going by fast though. I am enjoying the class and have met a lot of nice people in there too. I guess you can teach an OLD DOG new tricks. Ha!
So you can see our Anniversary will be exciting I have to leave before Michael gets home for my class and I won't be back till about 8:00. I got him a new PDA for our Anniversary he dropped his in water at work last week.

Love ya ...... Judy

Criminal Minds

Criminal Minds is one of my favorite tv shows it is about FBI profilers. I have never seen a bad show and if we have to miss it we DVR it. I am so upset Mandy Patinkin, citing creative differences, has asked to be released from his role as FBI profiler Jason Gideon. The show just won't be the same without him.

Update on Medical Issues....

God is Good and Faithful isn't he?
When you think you have given up and can't go no more he gives you the strength to pick up and go on......

Sorry I have not posted in a bit. I have not been feeling well. And all these tests the doctors are putting me through I am always tired it seems. I am getting old I guess and falling apart. She is leaving no stone unturned it seems. I am still black and blue from the last hospital visit.
Yesterday they took even more blood. Will there be any left???? (smile)

Now they want me to also do a sleep apnea test they said because of when I do have surgery I will need to be on the machine for at least 2 month prior if I have sleep apnea. I do not think I have it but they said it is a common practice they do these days for anyone over 50 with medical problems.

Man if I had known years ago I would live to be OLD I would have maybe taken better care of myself. (smile)
Having cancer is nothing I could have did nothing about of course it just happens.
One of those if it be God's will kind of things. But some of the other issues maybe I would have given more thought to.

Wouldn't it be great if God clued us in on his plans for our lives ahead of time???? Just a thought.

It just scares me times knowing Aaron will need someone for all his life and I will not be around at some point in his life to care for him. Since I have been sick he tells me everyday. Mom I wish you could live forever and be with me. He is so darned cute you just gotta love and hug him. He is not in summer school this year so he has been with me 24/7 he tells me every time I walk by him almost I love you mom. Wish he was little still so I could pick him up and squeeze him to pieces. Ha!

He has the sweetest heart in the world. He wants everyone to love him. A shame we can't have everyone love us isn't it? With his child like mind he wants life that way and why not huh? I would LOVE life that way myself who wouldn't?

Thank you all who have sent cards and emails I LOVE YOU ALL. I have some of the greatest friends for sure. God will bless you indeed for your sweet thoughts and prayers for me and my family.

Please continue to keep us in your prayers GOD ANSWERS PRAYERS......HUGS

8 years ago today my life was forever changed......

My daddy was taken suddenly from this world and from his family and we still miss him very much. Life has never been the same since my daddy passed away. I know he is waiting in heaven for me and that does comfort me but the selfish part of me would still wish him to be here. My daddy was the glue that held our family together and since he has gone on to be with the Lord our family has totally fallen apart.
Daddy I miss you and love you and I will see you soon wait at the gate for my arrival when you know I am coming.
I LOVE YOU DADDY AND MISS YOU SO MUCH.....

Happy Birthday America

MyGlitterRomance.com - Glitter Graphics, Glitter Love, MySpace Graphics, MySpace Codes, MySpace layouts, Doll Codes, Glitter Words

Hope you all have had a safe holiday. We took Aaron to see the new Transformers movie that came out today. It was actually quite entertaining. I really did not know if I would probably care for it that much... but the special effects were awesome and I enjoyed he story line as well. We were going to see License to Wed the new Robin Williams movie that just came out but it was about to start and they said the theater was about 90 percent full. So we opted to wait for the next Transformer movie which was starting in 45 minutes, there was already a waiting line to get into it. I am glad we went to see it and I do recommend it to go and see. Aaron loved it of course... !!!!!! So hope everyone else had a nice day we had a very nice day.

Ernie Haase and Signature Sound Do I say WOO HOO or AMEN AMEN???

We just returned from the Ernie Haase and Signature Sound Concert that was at a church in Santa Ana tonight.

We had saw them 2 months ago with Bill Gaither for the Homecoming but wow.. were they good tonight. They had announced in April when we saw them with Bill that they would be coming back in June. So I came home and ordered tickets online the next day. I told Michael HAPPY BIRTHDAY. (smile) since yesterday was his Birthday I bought US ALL tickets to go. We all got presents sneaky huh?

I always loved Ernie when he was with the Cathedrals and tonight he sang some of the songs he sang while with them WOW WOW WOW he can still sing. AMEN indeed. What a voice this man has.

He sang Oh What A Savior the windows were rattling I tell ya.

He is the sweetest, most gentle man in person. I talked with him for a bit before the concert we had gotten there early. I got my picture with him I will put that in this email too.

At intermission time Aaron wanted to meet Tim Duncan the Bass Singer. He loves Tim's voice and he even talks really really deep like he sings so cool.

So he went up to the table to meet him. Tim shook his hand I got a picture of him shaking Aaron's hand. He asked Aaron what his name was and Aaron said my name is Aaron, sir I am really happy to meet you. Tim came from around the table and took his picture with Aaron. Aaron was beaming it was really cute.

We had awesome seats. While I was taking pictures during the concert Aaron said mom take a video. I keep forgetting my camera does do video too. I took 3 short videos.

What a wonderful evening we had. AMEN!!!!!!!

Here are some of the pictures... Hugs

Michael's Birthday

Glitter Maker

Aaron wanted to take Daddy to the movies for his Birthday after we got back from Palm Desert. We wanted to see Evan Almighty but it was not playing at the right time we had just missed the time to see it. So we saw 1408 the movie with John Cusack and Samuel L. Jackson. It was really good it is a thriller kind of movie made you jump quite a few times. Michael really enjoyed it and that is all that mattered since it was for his Birthday. (smile)

Maxine's Funeral

Yesterday was Maxine's funeral. It was a typical Family Funeral, most everyone said WHY does our family usually pass away in the summer when it is so hot in the desert? It was VERY HOT and was also humid. Many of my family said too it is sad we only get to see each other when someone dies. (That is sad isn't it?) But it is always wonderful seeing everyone. The service honoring the Celebration of Maxine's life was beautiful. Her son (my cousin Johnny did the service) also Bro. Burdette also did the obituary and part of the graveside as well. Many friends and loved ones came to honor Maxine's life and her love and commitment to Jesus Christ our Lord.
My nephew Larry Jr. came too with his Mom (Aunt Dodo to my kids) and her sister Jo. (who is Michael's aunt) Dodo whose name is really Dolores was married to my brother Larry. Yesterday would have been Larry's 58th Birthday. It was Michael's 57th Birthday. So while at the cemetery I went by my brother's grave. I know he is not there he is in heaven but I just felt like stopping by to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY. It was nice seeing Larry Jr. and Dolores and it was nice they came. I took some pictures after the funeral most were taken and Tommy and Maxine's home that is where the family dinner was. I made a slide show I will post it here.

Moms Night Out

We had Mom's Night Out last night for Bill's Special Kids Moms. We try to get together at least every 2 months. It is a lot of fun and without our kiddos.
I LOVE my special Moms and Grandmoms. They are a BIG part of our FAMILY. In fact they are OUR FAMILY. We love them all very much especially the Yearsley Clan.

Maxine Louise Coleman

My cousin Maxine went home to be with the Lord this morning. Please say a prayer for her family as they make arrangements for her funeral. Maxine is at peace and in the arms of Jesus today.

This is Maxine with her husband Tommy they were very devoted to each other.

God saw you getting tired, and a cure was not to be,
so he put his arms around you, and whispered,
"Come With Me",
We watched you suffer, and we saw you fade away,
although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating, hard breathing finally at rest,
God broke our hearts to prove, he only takes the best.
It's lonesome here without you, we miss you more each day,
life doesn't seem the same, since you've gone away.
When days are sad and lonely, and everything goes wrong.
We seem to hear you finally whisper,
"Cheer Up Carry On." each time we see your picture,
you seem to smile and say,
"Don't cry, I'm in God's keeping,
we'll meet again some day."

Good times and sad times.....Father's Day

We had a nice weekend.
First on Friday we went to Palm Desert. George, Michael's friend who he graduated High School with, he went back to school and got his degree he graduated on Friday night at the College of the Desert. So we went to his graduation party on Friday night. I will post some pictures of Michael and George they had a lot of fun together. They had an awesome band playing a lot of old songs we really liked from the Beatles and Creedence Clearwater etc. It was a lot of fun.
We stayed at the Ramada Inn it is a really nice place and they serve you a full breakfast in the morning you tell them what you want and they cook it for you, so Michael and Aaron really enjoyed that.

George acting silly as always... this is the George I knew when I was only 14 years old always being crazy... (smile)

Michael and George

Saturday after checking out of the hotel we went to Indio to see Aunt Virgie. She is not really my aunt but I have called her that all of my life she has known me since I was 11 months old. All the kids at the Coachella church always called her Aunt Virgie. Funny thing is when Michael came to live in California in 1967, Aunt Virgie is his cousin. So I am related to her since I married Michael (smile) she was so happy to see us all and told Michael he had always been her favorite and that he was very special to her. So I am really glad we went to see her. She is 84 years old now. She told Michael a lot of thing about his family he never knew and told him about his Great Great Great Grandpa whose picture I got while we were there too...
Here are some pictures we took while visiting Aunt Virgie.

Aaron with Aunt Virgie's dog he loved this dog.

This is Aunt Virgie she looks really good for 84 years old doesn't she?

Michael, Aunt Virgie and Aaron

Aunt Virgie with Me

Aunt Virgie with Michael

This is Michael's Great Great Great Grandpa his name was Jurdon pretty name isn't it?
He came from Denmark to Ellis Island.

After going to see her we went back to Palm Desert and we went to see my cousin Maxine. She is not doing well at all her kidneys are shutting down she was getting dialysis but now she is to ill even for that. Please remember her and her family in prayer at this time as this is a very difficult time for them all. I was so happy I got to see her one last time and she opened her eyes for a moment and I think she knew who I was. I have always loved her very much. Her son Johnny and I were very close growing up, we were close in age too and went to school together all of our lives before we married. I got to see him on Saturday too along with his brother and sisters. Nice to see them all just wish it would have been under better circumstances.

We drove around and showed Aaron places we used to live in. The house we bought after Michael got out of the Air Force in 1975 we bought it for $18,500.00 and had no idea how on earth we could make a house payment of $181.00 a month how funny isn't it? The house is for sale right now they had flyers out in front of the house so Aaron got out and got one so we could see how much it was now... and it is selling for $245,000.00 to bad we do not still own it huh? Here is a picture of the house.

On Sunday after church Aaron wanted to take Dad to a movie for Father's Day so we took him to see Fantastic Four the Rise of the Silver Surfer. It was really good and Michael really enjoyed it. By the time the movie was over was time for us to go back for evening church. Michael teaches the Junior High Class on Sunday evening. So Michael had a really nice Father's Day and Aaron had fun too. So both my guys were happy. If my guys are happy Mom is happy too. (smile)
Michael's Birthday is Friday, I bought tickets for us on Saturday to go and see Ernie Haaus and Signiture Sound. Aaron is excited about that too.

So we had a busy weekend and it was fun and also sad to see Maxine as sick as she is now. But a blessing I was able to see her again.

Pray for Baby Kaleb

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Like any responsible parents, Kristy and Josh Schwade wanted what was best for their only child, Kaleb. They did a background check on their day care worker, and even interviewed her in her home for two hours. Kristy was even willing to drive 20 miles out of her way to provide, what they thought to have been, "optimum" care in a good neighborhood.

On May 9th, 2007 their worst nighmare happened. After being in the care of this home day care worker only five times, Kaleb was picked up by his Grandmother and Aunt. They noticed that he was lethargic and experiencing obvious breathing abnormalities. The caregiver told them he was ill, but Kaleb had just visited the doctors the day before and was given a "clean bill of health". When Kristy arrived at her mother's home to pick Kaleb up, she described him as "having no life in his body". She tried repeatedly to wake him, but with no avail. She and her father got in the car and rushed to the hospital. While in the vehicle, Kristy lifted Kaleb's little eyelids. She noticed that his pupils were different sizes. Being the wife of an EMT, she knew immediately that this was the sign of a head injury Kaleb needed IMMEDIATE care. They stopped at the nearest firestation. The ambulance took him to the nearest hospital, and he was classified as a "trauma alert". He was then life-flighted to Tampa General Hospital, and was admitted to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). He was diagnosed as having Shaken Baby Syndrome. They also discovered that he had been SMOTHERED!

When something happens to your child, your world STOPS. You no longer care that someone cut you off on the highway, or that someone jumps in front of you in line at the grocery store. Nothing else matters but your child.

Kaleb is their world. The doctors. The PICU. It's all that matters now. PRAY for this family please....

Haley Ann Dunn

My Weekly Class

Well yesterday was week five of my twenty-four week class on Nutrition and Options.
I was so excited I lost another 4 pounds since last week. I thought going to Vegas and me not writing down everything I placed in my mouth would make me gain. But woo hoo it did not. So far I have lost 16 pounds. Weird cause I have to eat 5 times a day too. hehehe I used to eat like once a day. But they said that was what was wrong my body was not getting jump started in the morning so my metabolism was not working. Plus my DR is keeping a close eye on my thyroid and for the moment it seems to working too.
So all in all it was a good week I guess. Please keep praying for me as I have been overweight for the majority of my life. Hugs

Mr. Brooks the Movie

We went and saw Mr. Brooks it is the movie with Kevin Costner I really like him. Demi Moore is in it and I like her also. What I did not know till I got there was the one playing Kevin Costner's wife (Mrs. Brooks was Marg Helgenberger who plays on CSI, Las Vegas) I like her alot but did not see in the movie credits before that she was in it. Anyway the movie was really good.
Was sad actually cause he really wanted to be a nice guy. Has a split personality kind of actually what is called an alter ego. If you go see it let me know what you think.

Our Weekend

We had a great time at the Bowling League Tournament in Vegas this weekend. We had not been anywhere in almost 2 years so it was nice even if it only lasted 2 days.

We stayed at the Orleans cause that is where the Tournament was. We thought it would be easier than running back and forth etc.
We had never stayed there before it is an awesome Hotel and wonderful places to eat in it too. Has TGIF.. Don Miquels....SUBWAY too woo hoo...There are many many places to eat to many to post....
And as all hotels in Vegas an awesome Buffet that is where we all ate on Saturday night. There was 17 in our group so made it easier to eat there too.
Mike bowled really well in Vegas. He actually won a little money which was a real surprise. He had not bowled in years until he joined this league in September of 2006. It has been good for him and he is having fun.
Aaron had a ball in Vegas. He loves when we go to Mexican places so he can get Virgin Strawberry Margarita's. It is just a punch like slushy but he thinks it is cool the glass it come in etc. Hey whatever makes him happy. hehehe

This is the Hotel where we stayed....
