Bill's Special Kids Harvest Party Tonight

For the past few years a church here in Moreno Valley called Calvary Baptist Church sponsors a Harvest Party for Bill's Special Kids and they also invite the Battered Women from the local shelter and their children. It was really nice watching some of the little children from this shelter win games and win cakes from the cake walk. This year they had 2 bounce houses. They decorated their cars, trucks and vans for Trunk or Treat and they really went all out fully decorated with flashing lights and decorations as the kids went from car to car. They have games set up called the Milk Bottle Game, The Fishing Game, A booth where you can make picture frame, The Cake Walk (which Penny and I did) and Bob and Pat take photos for everyone to take home. This year they had a booth where you could make bracelets with the colored beads telling what each color means (The Gospel By Colors)they were awesome....Aaron made one for Penny since she was working the Cake Walk with me. I am going to make a key chain out of mine. It was a very nice party for the kids and even the adults seem to have a good time. What a wonderful outreach this church does each year. I feel God will truly bless them for their love and compassion for special kids.

Here is a couple of Scrapbook Pages I made tonight when I got back from the party.....

About the fires in California....Good Friends are hard to find.. I LOVE YA.....

I love my dear friends who are concerned about my family.... Wow I did not know we were so loved. (smile) I have had many phone calls from friends who live in places like Arizona, Georgia, Florida and other places. They were not sure how far from the fires we were and knew it looked like Southern California was all on fire on the news.
Since the fires began they have burned at least 373,000 acres, or 583 square miles an area larger than New York City. Fully a quarter of the California coast was ablaze. Flames climbed halfway toward the Nevada line through seven counties and devastating numerous communities.

Praise the Lord that we are fine where we are. All we have is the ashes and ugly sky and the awful smoke smells.

Yesterday Aaron's school went only for half day this morning at 6;30 they called and said today they were letting out (half day as well) so I said forget it don't pick him up for school today I will keep him with me.

I was going to be spending the morning and afternoon at Loma Linda Hospital with Bill. (from Bill's Special Kids) his wife Evelyn went in this morning for a Biopsy of her lungs. So Aaron and I sat with Bill and chatted while she was in surgery. We just got home a bit ago. They were going to make her stay for awhile. First they want to do a chest xray and they also have to keep an eye on her for awhile because the procedure they did on her can cause the lung to colapse. SO PLEASE PLEASE keep her in your prayers.. We love her so much she is like a Gramma to Aaron. We are quite close to the entire family.

Back to the awful fires.. I will post a couple of pictures one my friend sent me this is what it looked like near her home yesterday... And the other picture is what it looked like in our skies last night..

Pray for the fire fighters.... there seems to be no stopping of the fires and the winds have been very strong and makes it hard for them to get a handle on the fires..

The Gentle Giant and the Sweet Pea................

Aaron came home early today from school they let the kids out early because of all the fires and the high winds. As soon as he came in the door he took Corey from me. He adores Corey. (actually he loves all babies and little kids) Corey loves Aaron to talk to him he just coos away.. so so cute. So of course I had to grab my camera and take some pictures.

Gone On To Heaven

Last month I posted that I had taken Aaron to see a dear friend from church who had been to ill to come to church for quite some time. Sis. Lela went home to be with the Lord on Sunday afternoon. When it was announced in church on Sunday evening Aaron looked at me with tears running down his cheeks and said he will miss her. He said I am so glad we went to see her mom and took her some flowers he said people should have flowers when they are alive not dead.(and I agree with Aaron on that one). He did love Lela very much as did I. I am so thankful we got to see her during one of her "GOOD DAYS" she was feeling pretty good the day we were there she was quite happy to see Aaron too.
See you again someday Lela..................WE LOVE YOU.....

The Weekend and the Association in Banning.......

This weekend was spent basically in church. It was the Southern California Local Association it was held at the Banning Missionary Baptist Church. We had a great weekend. The services were Friday evening and then basically all day Saturday. Bro. David Hardin was visiting from Georgia and told us about the Olympic Bible Project then he came to our church in Redlands Sunday evening. Aaron was quite impressed with not only the project but with Bro. David. Michael and Aaron were saying okay.... I want to go with Bro. David to China, and they would if we had the money to send them.
They are taking about 100 people with them in the group and it is about $2000.00 a person to go. I think Bro. David might have got tired of all the questions Aaron kept asking him over dinner last night after he told our church about the project. The Group is going to Beijing, China in 2008 and going to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the people in China. It is an awesome project. We really enjoyed being with Bro. David the past 3 days and will enjoy him coming back again sometime to see us. He is on fire for the Lord and you can hear it in his voice when he speaks about going and doing God's will.
Here are some pictures of the weekend. Of course Aaron is in most of them since they are my pictures. (smile) But wanted to share them with you all.

Corey .....

Today I started to watch a friend's grand baby.... She said the daycare where his brother goes that is around the corner from their home does not have space available at this time for a baby. When you are licensed you are only allowed a certain amount of children under 2 if you have older children you care for too. So I told her I would watch him for awhile even though I was not working right now. I forgot how much fun it is to have a newborn around. He is so sweet and loves to cuddle and be held. YES HE IS SPOILED... his name is Corey isn't he the cutest he is only 8 weeks old...Oh this Gramma Judy can really spoil such a cutie pie.. He has many expressions one picture I snapped looked like he was saying Hi!
