Road Trip to Wichita, Kansas

Well we have decided since we are so close to so many things on the weekends when weather is nice we are getting out of the house and taking a road trip. Wichita is just a little over 2 hours from us. So was a nice trip and got to see some of the US we have never seen before.

Amanda Lewis had the day off so they wanted to go too. So we all piled in my van and off we went. We told them they could go but warned them we would be eating at the Cracker Barrel for lunch. (they had never eaten there before) they did enjoy it and loved the little country store in there also.

So we just did some sight seeing around Wichita and went to Sams Club too while we were by one. They also have a Michael's Craft Store and a Catherines woo hoo. Several Dollar Tree Stores and Big Lots etc.. So we will be visiting there many times I am sure.

We took a different way back cause Michael wanted to check out more things and we went by the Chisholm Trail it was dark but we stopped anyway.

We had a nice day as you can see in the pictures.. Aaron and Jess at Cracker Barrel and Amanda with her gun and mask she bought goofing off. So here are a few of the pictures we took... Bye for now..

Prayers Needed for Issac's Family

A very dear child I knew died of Leukemia on New Years Day. His services will be tomorrow. He had a bone marrow transplant this past year and we were all in hopes it would be successful and at first they felt it was. But he lost the battle. The blessed thing is knowing he is in the arms of Jesus now. But please pray for his parents Carla and Travis and the rest of the family as well. Issac is at rest but he left behind sad hearts. How sad to start out a new year with the loss of your child I am sure. So say a prayer for this family. PLEASE.......
Here is a picture of Issac.
First one is of him right after his transplant
The other one was on Christmas.

Happy New Year and Happy Birthday Haley

I pray everyone has a wonderful new year. I accomplished the 2 things I wished to do this year. Relocate out of California and lose 100 pounds. I finally went over the 100 pound mark this past week. Going up and down these 14 stairs a few times a day probably helped. Ha ha ha..

I have lost 106 pounds. My surgery was February 13th, 2008 so it has been 10 1/2 months now. I feel so much better. God is good..

Also today my beautiful grandbaby is 3 years old. Hard to believe how fast time flies. She was born on my Daddy's Birthday which even made it more special. HAPPY BIRTHDAY Little Miss Haley Ann Dunn.

I will post some pictures and such of the holidays soon. I have to go finish dinner. Deannie and family and Kim and the girls are coming for New Years Dinner. I am baking a ham....it smells good in here...

So tata for now... Hugs N Prayers Judy

Surprise Visit

Last night our doorbell rang and we found Norm, Arlene and Nolan on our doorstep. It was so nice to see them all. Arlene had been in my daycare when she was a baby and then when Mr. Nolan came along I had him in my daycare when he was just 6 weeks old. So I have watched them both grow up over the years. I took some pictures of Aaron with the kids last night and I will also post one of Aaron with them when they were younger too... It was so nice of them to stop by and say say goodbye to us. I love them all very much.. Sad and nice time all rolled into one...

Fond Farewell

On Sunday there was a Potluck at Church and they had honored us by making it a Lockwood Potluck Farewell Dinner. It was very sweet. We wish to thank "ALL" of you who stayed to wish us well. It is times like that you see who really does care and love you and those who will miss us. (smile) it meant a lot to us. We wish to thank those of you for the BEAUTIFUL cards and gifts for our new home. How very sweet of you to remember us in this way. We shall miss you!!!!!!!!! I shall keep all the cards and when I am homesick for California I shall read them all and cry again. God Bless you all....

We took a few pictures..
